As a recipient of the Fund for Teachers Grant, I will be travelling this June to The Dominican Republic to study dance and Spanish. I will be learning about how dances like the Merengue and Bachata are a part of the Domincan culture. I hope you enjoy following my trip. Also, you can read my posts about my previous trip to Japan! Thanks for visiting!

How long it will take to get to Japan?
What is the population of Japan?
How is Japan differant from China?
What is China and Japan famous for?
Have a nice trip (Jabari Ayo Jackosn)
Hi Jabari! Glad you asked some questions! It took me 11 hours to get to Japan from San Francisco. nd 4 hours to get to San Francisco. Hmmm... the population, I don't know. I know that the population of Tokyo is over 11 million which is nearly 4 times the size of Houston. It is very crowded here!
As you know, China and Japan are separate countries with different cultures. Japan is famous for lots of things, like their fish dishes, their traditional clothing (kimonos) and their art. Japan has been known for their idea of beauty-- meaning that they have always been artistic and tried to make their environment beautiful. Thanks for your great questions!
Hey Brie,
How are the waves over there? We hear it is time to go surfing!! Were you shocked as I was to hear about the earthquake and tsunami warnings? It sounds like you are having a great time. Eat some raw fish for me. Take care.

We didn't actually feel anything or have any waves here. Up on the Northern most island, they did get some waves, but nothing close to a sunami. Turns out that it didn't affect anyone very much even though it was a strong earthquake. Thanks for your concern and hopefully that is all the excitement we will get!
